Armchair inspired by a draped tablecloth on the edges of a table. Passionate about working with materials to build real models on my own studio I discovered the contrasted beauty and the functional need to combine pure welded steel tubes with fabrics only by a clothesline. By making a specific hole pattern in the fabric, the sofa only becomes its final shape by seaming it precisely on, around and through this metal frame. The rope pattern becomes a visible essential detail drawing that reflects its indispensable cooperation between craftsmanship and industry while offering strength and comfort. The chair is made of a single fabric with minimal cutout. In this prototype I used a synthetic felt that should represent a quilt with pattern. All pieces can be separated after use, follow the ‘cradle to cradle’ principle.
