HAND-BENT chair
HAND-BENT CHAIR revisits the logic of tubular steel furniture through contemporary production.
Building on the legacy of Bauhaus pioneers, the chair explores how updated bending techniques and precision tooling can redefine form. A strict structural grid is subtly altered through tension and angle: the seat curves through equal force distribution, while tapering back legs create a conical backrest. A horizontal tube stabilizes the structure and functions as a handle. The result balances industrial precision with traces of manual bending logic.
The project extends a historic typology into current production logic, showing how innovation can emerge from rethinking established techniques.
