Bulo (BE) and Republic of Fritz Hansen (DK) organised a contest with Thomas More Highschool (BE) to work with shells of the iconic Butterfly Chair by Arne Jacobsen.
The top veneer from butterfly n° 56 was damaged but the internal quality of this pressed veneer should in any case be seen. Arne Jacobsen was a pioneer by forming veneer no more starting from two dimensional extruded forms, but by creating three dimensional shapes, I want to remind us. Starting from cutting and turning vertical slices, a recognisable two dimensional butterfly appears.
